Massachusetts connection

Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah)

Andrews-Maltais has served as the Tribe’s chairwoman. A tribal council makes decisions about land, services, education, and community well-being. Her public service offers a way to study the continuing work of a sovereign Native nation. Tribal government and the Town of Aquinnah’s government are different.
